KHOUR, Mar 15: Authorities today rescued 34 bonded labourers from a brick kiln unit in Khour area here.
Acting on a complaint, 34 individuals, including children, working as bonded labourers at the BMK brick kiln in village Dhanger, tehsil Khour, were released, an official said.
He said the rescued workers have been handed over to local police authorities for proper care and arrangements to return them to their families.
The police have been instructed to investigate the matter and take strict legal action against those responsible for exploiting these individuals, he said.
“The rescue operation was carried out by the administration along with law enforcement agencies. The brick kiln was inspected, and legal proceedings against the perpetrators have already begun,” the official said.
According to him, further investigations are underway.
