JAMMU, May 28: A total of 343 persons including traders, employees and labour of Ware House-Nehru Market were vaccinated in COVID vaccination camp held today in the premises of Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market’s office.
The vaccination camp was organized for the traders and workers of Ware House-Nehru Market belonging to age group 18-45 years, by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and Health Department under the supervision of the district administration.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Anshul Garg, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu also visited the camp and inspected the arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that JMC has launched COVID-19 vaccination drive for the priority group (in the age group 18-45) comprising of shopkeepers of all categories, their helpers and street vendors including milkmen and plumbers of various markets, from 25th of May.
Anshul Garg, on the occasion, informed that vaccination of 45+ age group is almost complete and emphasis is being given on 18+ vaccination drive through special camps in which shopkeepers, helpers, bank employees, lawyers, widows, orphans and public in general have been given priority for inoculation.
The DC cautioned that despite of decreasing trend in positive cases in the district, the people should remain conscious and take precautions to combat Coronavirus. He also stated that the people should adhere to SOPs in letter in spirit which is effective tool to contain the spread of this infection.
Deepak Gupta, president of Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market along with other office bearers including Munish Mahajan (senior vice-president), Abhimanyu Gupta (vice president), Sham Lal Langer (general secretary), Vishal Gupta (secretary) and Amit Gupta (cashier) was also present.
