JAMMU, Aug 3: On the 34th day of yatra, 3,434 pilgrims drawn from different parts of the country paid obeisance at 3888 meter Himalayan cave in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
With this, the total number of pilgrims visiting the cave shrine since the 62 day long yatra started on July 1 has risen to 4,10,231.
The dead body of a pilgrim was today recovered from Railpathri area who was buried in a glacier due to landslide on July 26 after performing the darshan at cave shrine. He had gone missing since then and his family members were camping at holy cave to get his body traced.
His body was recovered by the SDRF and JK Police team from the debris at Railpathri. With this the death toll in the ongoing yatra has risen to 43. His body was shifted to nearby hospital for legal formalities.
Meanwhile, 32nd batch of 1198 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for twin base camps of Nunwan-Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district in a cavalcade of 43 vehicles under tight security arrangements early this morning.
