35 kgs poppy straw, 750 grams charas recovered, 3 held

SRINAGAR, July 3: Three drug peddlers were arrested and 35 kilograms of poppy straw and over a half a kilogram of charas have been recovered from three different places in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that on a tip off, police raided the house of Sarwar Amin Bhat alias Dada, resident of Kharbrari in Kulgam district. During the search of the house, 28 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered. The accused was taken into custody and a case FIR number 126/15 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is on, the spokesman said.
In another incident, a police party at Bijbehara during a naka checking recovered 750 grams of charas from Abdul Gani Dar. The accused was taken into custody and case has been registered against him.
“Further investigation is on in this regard,” he said.
In Srigufwara area, a police party on specific information arrested Reshie of Waghama near Sirhama and recovered 07 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession. The accused was arrested and a case has been registered.
