JAMMU, Aug 28: The 35th Regional Level Youth Parliament Competition kicked off here today at the auditorium of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Jammu. The event was inaugurated by Vikram Randhawa, former MLC, and Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Jammu, who performed the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.
Vice Principal Akash Gupta facilitated the guests, setting a formal tone for the proceedings. In his address, Vikram Randhawa highlighted the importance of youth engagement in Parliamentary processes. Islam Khan emphasized the competition’s role in providing students with a simulated parliamentary experience, which helps in understanding national issues and developing leadership skills.
The competition featured seven Kendriya Vidyalayas from the Jammu region, including KV Miran Sahib, KV Kathua, KV No. 2 Srinagar, KV Leh, KV Rajouri, KV Udhampur, and KV No. 1 Srinagar. On the first day, teams from five KVS showcased their youth parliament presentations, engaging in discussions and debates on national topics. The event aims to foster a deeper understanding of parliamentary proceedings among students.
