36 bovines rescued, 7 smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Apr 7: Police rescued 36 bovines and seized six vehicles used for bovine smuggling besides arresting seven accused persons.
According to the police report, a team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Inspector Kesar Singh foiled five bovine smuggling bids and rescued 29 bovines, which were being smuggled in vehicles bearing registration number, Mahindra Bolero JK19A-2075, Mahindra Bolero Pick Up JK14H-6958, Mahindra Bolero pick up JK 02CS-4092, Tata Mobile number JK19A-1508 and Truck number JK22-2093.
These vehicles were intercepted and seized at Nakapoint in Majalta. Drivers of these vehicles, namely Mohd Nazir, son of Ghulam Mohd of Kadyal, R S Pura Jammu; Mohd Sharief, son of Abdul Karim of Sarmoli, Udhampur; Gaffor Ali, son of Mohd Qasim of Kadyal, R S Pura Jammu; Altaf Hussain, son of Mohd Hanief of Halladhandnat, district Ramban; Rafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Farooq of Ragura, near Batra Hospital Jammu Sidhra District Jammu and Co-driver Mohd Iqbal, son of Salim Din of Sidhra Jammu.
Case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
Meanwhile, one more bovine smuggling big was foiled by Police team of Police Station Rehambal. Seven bovines were being smuggled in a vehicles Mahindra Bolero Pick Up bearing registration number JK19A-5345, which was seized at Tikri nakapoint. Accused smuggler namely Mohd Khalid, son of Mohd Dawood of Bhaga, Reasi was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Rehambal.
