36 bovines seized, 3 smugglers arrested

KATHUA/JAMMU, Sept 25: The police arrested three bovine smugglers and seized 36 animals during nakas in Rajbagh and Gole Gujral area today.
A police spokesman said that a police party intercepted two persons near Bandhore village during early hours today when they were carrying 21 bovine animals. While one of them of them managed to escape his associate was nabbed by police. He has been identified as Yousuf, son of Qasim Din, resident of Salalpur in Hiranagar. The other was identified as Sadiq, son of Shams Din of Chadwal. The police seized the animals and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, Domna police arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 15 milch animals from their possession.
Police spokesman said that on specific inputs, police party from Domana Police Station laid a naka at Gol Gujral and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14A-5419.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested two bovine smugglers namely Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain of Behrote, Thanna Mandi in district Rajouri and Abdul Hameed alias Meedu, son of Mohd Shafi of Munshi Chak. A case has been registered against them.
