NEW DELHI: BJP today said it is fully committed for the governance in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to reporters on the second day of BJP National Executive here, Union Finance Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said, “We stand fully committed as far as the agenda of governance is concerned in J&K.”
”In the political resolution, which is adopted by the BJP in its two-day national executive today, there is a reference to J&K in terms of national security,” the BJP leader said. On March 18, the prospects of early Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir dimmed as the BJP hardened its stand saying it would not accept any conditions from the alliance partner PDP.
The meeting of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti with BJP chief Amit Shah on March 17 had fuelled hopes of some progress on the Government formation, but BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav made it clear that there was no progress so far and things stood where they were two months ago.
“The responsibility of forming the Government lay on the PDP which has to name its chief ministerial candidate,” he told reporters here. “We will not accept any new demand. Demands would be considered after the formation of the alliance Government,” he added.(Agencies)
