37 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Apr 11:  Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 37 animals besides arresting three smugglers.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party from PP Tikri, laid a surprise naka this morning on the National Highway and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AF-0427, which was on way towards Srinagar. During thorough search, the vehicle was found loaded with 26 bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also seized the truck and arrested its driver, namely Ishtayak Ahmed, son of Mohamed Jubar of Qazigund Kashmir.
Similarly, in another success, a team from  Police Station Chenani intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles  bearing registration number  JK08C-4285 and JK02BH-7486, which were on  way towards Kashmir. The vehicles were found loaded with 11 bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also seized the vehicles and arrested drivers, namely Altaf Hussian of Chadwal in Kathua  and Mohd Akthar of Dharmkund Ramban.
