Udhampur, Mar 4: An impressive attestation cum passing out parade was held at Subsidiary Trainig Centre (STC), Border Security Force here.
Total 375 recruits of STC BSF Udhampur participated in the parade. W. Bengal 318,Jharkhand 53, Bihar 02, U P 01, J&K 01, The attestation cum passing out parade was the culmination of 34 weeks of rigorous basic training, which has equipped them for performing duties on border and in counter insurgency operations.
S S Tomar, IG, Ftr HQ BSF Jammu took the salute and congratulated training staff as well as the recruits for putting up a commendable performance in the parade.
In his address, he emphasized the importance of hard work, dedication to duty and high degree of integrity while discharging duties on the border as well in counter insurgency operations. He reminded the recruits that they are the first line of defence for the country and it is their primary duty to ensure the sanctity of the borders.
The parade was commanded by recruit constable Mohd. Sadikujjan S K STC BSF Udhampur .
All the Constables were awarded medals by the chief guest. Batch no 147 overall 1st Constable Sunil Kumar Bhagat, 2nd Nikhil Kumar Singh, Best in Drill Constable Tarak Nath Sardar, Best in Endurance Subodh Singh, Best in Shooting Dipak Barman, Batch no 148 overall 1st Sanjay Barman, 2nd Alok Roy, Best in Drill Sanjay Barman, Best in Endurance Surdip Kispotta and Best in Shooting Ripan Sarkar.
Senior officers from Army, Air Force, Police and Civil Administration were also present on the occasion. The parade was also witnessed by family members of BSF personnel as well as the recruits.
