SRINAGAR: Eighteen new guests from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while only four Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives separated in 1947 due to partition.
As many as eleven people from both the sides of the LoC also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post, on this side of the border, official sources said.
They said 18 PoK residents, including five women and two children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge.
Five Kashmiris, who had gone to the PoK returned to their homes after meeting their relatives across the LoC.
They said four Kashmiris, including two women and a child, crossed over to PoK to meet their relatives.
However, six PoK resident who had arrived here in previous buses returned to their homes, they said adding they included two women.
The weekly cross border Karan-e-Aman bus, started from April 7,2005, has helped thousands of divided families to meet their separated relatives. (UNI)
