38 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 25: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 38 bovines besides arresting two smugglers from Tikri area.
These bovine animals were being taken to Kashmir Valley in group moving on fee. A Police team, led by IC Police Post Tikri, PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Udhampur, Sahil Mahajan, intercepted the group during routine naka checking duty.
On questioning, the accused persons failed to produce any valid permission for taking bovine animals following which Police arrested the alleged smugglers and rescued all the bovines
The arrested smugglers were identified as Mohd Younis, son of Jamal Din of Jammu and Hamidu, son of Mirza of Jammu .In this connection, two case FIRs under relevant sections of law were registered in PS Rehambal.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
