38 PoK residents arrive, only two Kashmiris cross to other side

SRINAGAR, June 8: Thirty eight fresh residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while only two Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 partition.
As many as 45 people also crossed side at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said. They said 38 residents of PoK, including ten women and eleven children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge this afternoon.
Three Kashmiris who had gone to PoK also returned to their homes after completing stay across the border, they said adding two of them were women. However, only two Kashmiris, including a woman, crossed over to PoK to meet their separated relatives.
They said 42 PoK residents also returned to their homes after completing stay here. They included 15 women and four children, they said. The cross LoC Karvan-e-Aman bus service, introduced on April 7, 2005 has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other.
