JAMMU, Feb 28: Thirty nine Head Constables were promoted as Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) in J&K Police. Besides one SG Constable was promoted as Head Constable and two SG Constables were accorded in situ promotions.
The promotion orders were issued in their favour by IGP Jammu Zone, Mr Dilbagh Singh here today.
In the DPC held on January 26 this year besides issuance of Promotion orders for 39 HCs , 200 more HCs were cleared for promotion subject to undergoing pre-promotion course, four were cleared subject to authentication of category certificate and 51 subject to Vigilance Clearance.
The promotion orders for these 255 HCs will be issued after fulfillment of requisite formalities, a handout issued by Zonal Police Headquarters said.
It said during the year 2011 and 2012 a total of 12 DPCs were held in which functional promotion in respect of 2316 officers/officials including 192 SIs, 1728 ASIs, 395 HCs, 1237 SgCts, 35 constables and 278 followers were made.
