391 perform darshan at holy cave

JAMMU, Aug 8: On the 38th day of darshan today 391 pilgrims paid obeisance to naturally formed Ice Lingam in holy cave. With this the total number of pilgrims performing darshan in the cave shrine situated at an altitude of 13000 feet in deep Himalayas in South Kashmir district of Anantnag has touched 218,319 since the 48 day long yatra started on July 2.
According to an official spokesman 165 pilgrims left from Chandanwari transit camp to holy cave via traditional track of Sheshnag while 78 pilgrims returned to Nunwan-Pahalgam base camp after performing darshan in the holy cave.
He said 33 pilgrims are staying at Nunwan for night.
The spokesman said 228 pilgrims left from Baltal base camp to holy cave today while 200 reached Baltal from Jammu this morning.
He said the weather was cloudy during the day on yatra tracks and it rained up to the afternoon also.
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 277 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for two base camps of Baltal and Nunwan in seven vehicles under tight security arrangements today.
These pilgrims will leave for darshan from the two base camps early tomorrow morning, he added.
