JAMMU, Mar 3: The 3rd Governing Body meeting of Autonomous Government College for Women (GCW), Parade ground was held here today under the chairpersonship of Prof MPS Ishar, Ex-Vice Chancellor University of Jammu.
Prof Neelam Saraf; University of Jammu, Prof Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal GGM Science College, Prof Seema Jain, UGC Nominee, Ajay Langer, General Secretary FCCI, Jammu, Prof Veena Gupta, former Principal, Prof Tabassum Ara, HoD Education, Prof Neeraj Kumar, Co-ordinator IQAC and Prof Sonia Khajuira, Department of English also attended the meet.
Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Member Secretary and Principal Government College for Women Parade ground welcomed the Governing Body and gave a detailed power point presentation on the progress report of college. She highlighted the achievements of college in academics and co-curricular activities. She initiated the proceedings of the meeting by presenting the agenda items.
Prof MK Jyoti, Principal GCET, Seema Shekar and Rakesh Gupta, President CCI were nominated as Academic Council members for the period of two years. The Governing Body approved all the agenda items listed for approval.
The members confirmed starting of PG Programmes in English, Zoology and MCA and suggested the intake capacity of 20 seats in Zoology and MCA and 50 for English.
The members also gave their consent to start PhD programme in (CRME) in Home-Science in accordance with the UGC guidelines. Governing Body also approved to start the elective subjects in statistics, Hospitality and Management and Tourism.
The development projects were discusses threadbare and the Chairman opined to go for vertical structures seeing the space constrain of the college.
The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by Member Secretary.
