JAMMU, July 18: Third Natrang Theatre Festival started here today with the staging of Moliere’s French comedy ‘A Bourgeois Gentleman’ in Hindustani ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’ under the direction of Sumeet Sharma.
Earlier the festival was inaugurated with the lighting of traditional lamp by the Chief Guest Romesh Kumar, District Development Commissioner, Jammu.
Rakesh Kumar Srangal, Director School Education was the Guests of Honour.
Welcoming the gathering, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said, to commemorate the celebrations of 35 years of Natrang, a festival is being organized by the organization every month since May, 2018.
The play revolves around one Mr. Kumar, a middle-aged man with sole aim in life to rise above his middle-class background and be accepted as an aristocrat.
The artists who performed in the play were Anil Tickoo, Sunita Pandit, Neeraj Kant, Sanjeev Gupta, Rahul Singh, Gauri Thakur, Mahikshit Singh, Meenakshi Bhagat, Vanshika Gupta, Vrinda Sharma, Ashley Mehta, Gautam Sharma, Shivam Singh, Shashank Singh Charak and Abhi Bargotra.
The lights were designed by Neeraj Kant and music was scored by Brijesh Avtar Sharma. Shivam Singh and Brijesh Avtar Sharma looked after the properties.
Mohd Yaseen and Gopi Sharma coordinated the show. The hall management was looked after by Aafaque Khan, Dr. Sonalika Jamwal, Kyannat Gupta, Sonakshi Gupta, Vaishali Sharma, Mohit Kaul, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Gautam Kumar, Raheel Sharma, Ajay Kumar Lalota and Ravees Ahmed.
