4 accused remanded to judicial custody

SAMBA, Aug 28 :Four accused, who were arrested by Samba police in abetment to suicide case of Bodh Raj of Rakh Amb Talli Samba, have been remanded to ten days judicial custody and have been lodged in District Jail Kathua.
All the four accused were arrested in abetment to suicide case FIR No. 197/2023 U/S 306/109 IPC registered at Police Station, (PS) Samba through Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli.
The arrested persons have been identified as Faqir Chand, son of Lalo Ram of Rakh Amb Talli, Surjit Kumar, son of Faqir Chand of Rakh Amb Talli, Ashok Kumar, son of Jagdish Raj of Rakh Amb Talli and Jameet Roy, son of Lt. Sadhu Ram of Meen Sarkar, Barjani, Bari Brahmana.
Police said on July 20 an information was received through reliable sources at Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli to the effect that one person namely Bodh Raj, 52, son of Lalo Ram, who was under treatment at GMC as poison case, expired at GMC Jammu and that his dead body was lying at mortuary room. Upon this information, police initiated inquest proceedings U/S 174 CrPC to ascertain the actual cause of death and inquest was underway.
In the meanwhile, police received directions U/S 156 (3) CrPC from Court of CJM, Samba to register FIR and in compliance with the court directions, FIR No. 197/2023 U/S 306/109 IPC was registered at Police Station, Samba. Four accused were arrested and investigation is being conducted by SI, Shabir Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Police Station, Samba, Rajeshwar Singh, DySP, Garu Ram and Additional SP, Samba Surinder Choudhary.
All the four accused have been remanded to judicial custody for ten days by the Munsiff Court Samba and have been lodged in District Jail Kathua.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that Samba police is conducting investigations in highly professional manner taking all aspects into consideration and apprehending accused involved in crimes with geared-up pace.
