Jammu, Dec 4: Army rescue parties recovered three bodies of soldiers from snow avalanches in North Kashmir while as one of the rescued soldiers succumbed in Army’s Base Hospital Srinagar today. The soldiers were buried under snow yesterday and three bodies were recovered after massive searches launched in the area.
Four Army personnel of 2 JAT regiment of Army were buried under snow avalanche at Eagle Post in Tangdar in Kupwara district yesterday. A rescue operation was launched and two Army personnel identified as Sepoy Vikas Kumar and Sepoy Kamal Kumar of were rescued and shifted to 92-Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. One of them Sepoy Kamal Kumar succumbed at the hospital today.
The rescue operation continued today and teams recovered two bodies of the soldiers from the snow. They have been identified as Havaldar Rajendra Singh and Sepoy Amit Kumar.
And in the meantime, body of one Army personnel Naik Akhil of 24 RR was recovered from Baktoor area of Gurez in Bandipora district today. He was missing in a blizzard since yesterday. Four Army personnel had went missing in a blizzard yesterday out of whom three were rescued and one was missing.
