4 arrested for illegal mining, case registered

JAMMU, Apr 8: Khour Police arrested 4 persons for illegal mining and registered a case against them.
As per police sources, District Mining office lodged a complaint with Police Station Khour on the basis of a report of a Committee constituted to check illegal mining in the area wherein it submitted that minor minerals have been stolen by unknown persons from nallahs and khads.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Khour and special teams were constituted.
A team from Police Station Khour led by SHO Inspector Balwinder Singh in liaison with Mining Department Officers arrested four persons along with stolen minerals.
The arrested persons were identified as Malkeet Kumar of Dokh Khalsa, Sanjay Kumar of Dhok Jagir, Vikas Sharma of Dhok Jagir and Ashok Kumar of District Reasi.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police warned of stern action against anyone involved in illegal mining or black marketing.
