Srinagar, June 13: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 4 persons and seized 4 vehicles in Baramulla as well as in Budgam.
In Baramulla, a police party of Police Station Pattan under the supervision of Incharge SDPO Altaf Ahmad Khan assisted by SHO PS Pattan seized 2 vehicles (tractors) and arrested 2 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Karewa Pattan.
“They have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mian son of Mohd Afzal Main & Mehraj ud Din Ganie son of Abdul Gani, both residents of Buran Pattan.”
In Budgam, a police party of Police Post Humhama during Naka/patrolling at Tawheed Abad Humhama intercepted 2 tippers transporting illegally extracted clay.
“The tippers were seized on the spot and drivers were arrested. They were identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Khan son of Ali Mohd Khan resident of Sheikhpora Budgam and Rayees Ahmad Mir son of Gulzar Ahmad Mir resident of Ompora Budgam,” police said.
