Srinagar Apr 18 : The Food Safety Department today sealed four bakery units in the city for violating the Food Safety and Standards Act’s sanitary and hygiene requirements.
A spokesperson of the department said that taking strong note of a video that went viral on social media showing a bakery worker kneading the dough with his feet, a drive was held today to check the sanitary and hygienic requirements of food safety and standards in the district of Srinagar. “Four bakery units were found violating sanitary and hygienic requirements of the Food Safety and Standards Act during this drive,” he said.
He added that the drive would continue in the coming days and that it would be ensured that the bakery and confectionary items available to consumers were processed in sanitary conditions.
