JAMMU, Apr 12: Police in Jammu’s Nowabad area invoked Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against four people for allegedly committing and facilitating rape with a minor girl in a hotel room here today.
A police spokesperson said that one Jamshed Alam came with a teenage girl and boarded a room in Hotel Tourist Camp, Jewel, here today.
There, he said, one Vidya Lal, was allegedly committing the crime with a minor girl when a police team, led by SHO Nowabad, Surinder Raina, reached at the spot and arrested the accused along with two other persons including the hotel manager, Bishan Dass and agent. Mohammad Touseef.
“The person who brought the girl to the hotel room, Jamshed Alam, is still at large but our teams are after him,” said SHO Nowabad, Surinder Raina, adding that all the four accused have been booked under POCSO Act and further investigation has been started.
