SAMBA, Jan 22: Police today foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued four milch animals from Nanak-e-Chak area, falling under the jurisdiction of Supwal police post.
A police spokesman said that, police party from Supwal police post laid a naka at Nanak-e-Chak and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02AX-1386.
During checking, police rescued four bovine animals, whileas the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR number 14/15 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PC Act has been registered at police station Samba and manhunt launched to nab the accused.
Police team led by Incharge police post Supwal SI Vikas Hans rescued the bovines under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Vijay Pal Singh and SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
