UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Tikri police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid, rescued 4 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler.
A police spokesman said that, on reliable information, police party from police post Tikri laid a naka at near Mand on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted one load carrier Balero vehicle without registration number.
During search, police rescued four bovine animals and arrested the accused smuggler, who has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf, son of Jumma of Gole Mela, Rathian.
A case under FIR number 33/14 under Section 188-RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Rehmbal and investigation started.
