RAMBAN, May 17: Dhamkund police today rescued four bovine animals and arrested a person.
As per police sources, police team from Dhamkund police station laid a naka at Gool-Ramban Link Road and intercepted a person carrying bovine animals.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and was nabbed by the police for smuggling bovines to Valley by foot.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Kanga.
A case under FIR number 8/15 under Section 188 RPC has been registered against him at police station Dhamkund and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Dhamkund police station Inspector Arun Kotwal made the arrest under the supervision of Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
