4 brothers injured in clash over land dispute

KATHUA, Sept 28: Four brothers were injured, three of them seriously over a land dispute with their cousin brother at Bhagyal village 8 kms from here on Jammu –Pathankote National Highway this afternoon.
According to reports four brothers Surinder Singh, Rashpal Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Pawan Singh sons of Amar Singh of village Barwal near here had a piece of agriculture land at Bhagyal on Jammu- Pathankote NH.
Today they tried to demarcate the land by erecting the fencing around it. This was objected by their cousin brother, Shiv Charan Singh, son of Mukund Singh who had already constructed his house on a portion of the land and was residing in the same. This resulted into an altercation among them. The party which had started erecting the fencing around the land for its demarcation asked their cousin who objected the same to bring Pathwari for demarcation if has any doubt.
This infuriated him and he went inside his house brought out his gun and fired upon them in anger, resulting into multiple injuries to them. However, Shiv Charan Singh a PDD employee fled after the incident. The Kathua Police has registered a case against him under Section 307 and launched a manhunt to arrest him.
Out of four injured persons three have been rushed to GMC Hospital Jammu for treatment in a serious condition while one brother was admitted in District Hospital Kathua.
