Srinagar, Apr 11: Police in Srinagar today arrested four police constables on charges of robbery in Batmaloo area of Srinagar.
Police said that a complainant Shabir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Lachmanpora, Batmaloo had stated that he was robbed by some armed uniformed men at Solina on April 3 this year. He alleged that they took away Rs 50, 000 at gun point.
Police said a case (FIR No 20/2013 under Section 392/RPC) was registered in Police Station Shergarhi, Srinagar.
Police said 4 constables Bilal Ahmad Ganie, Javed Ahmad Lone, Showkat Ahmad Malik and Manzoor Ahmad Hajam were arrested for robbery.
Police is investigating the matter.
