MENDHAR, Feb 17: At least four policemen were injured in a clash between cops and some youth in Police Station Mendhar today.
Reports said some youth attacked a Police Constable in the Mendhar market when he was on duty. Some cops in the area rushed to rescue the colleague and one of the attackers was nabbed and brought to police station.
After some time, about 15-20 people reached police station and asked to release the detained youth. After verbal spat, a clash took between the cops and youths at Police Station. The youth also tried to break the gate and ransack the furniture. In the clash at least 4-5 cops including an ASI sustained injuries.
The police claimed to have arrested five persons in this connection so far. It said a case has been registered in this connection. No senior police officer was prepared to comment on the issue and said they have registered a case.
