JAMMU, Feb 26: Four -day long Maha Shivratri mela at Peerkho to be organised by Tourism Department, Jammu in collaboration with Peerkho Temple will commence on February 28 at 4 pm.

This was stated by Mahant Peer Rajinder Nath Ji of Peerkho temple while talking to reporters here, today. He said Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer who will be the chief guest on the occasion will inaugurate the mela.
He said during this four -day long mela cultural programmes with devotional songs besides amusement park with joy rides and food stalls for children and devotees will be attraction of the mela. The traditional bhandara will be held on May 2 in Peerkho temple, he added.
Mahant Peer Rajinder Nath Ji further said on March 3 the concluding day of the mela , Indian Style of Wrestling will be held in which leading wrestlers from J&K and other parts of country will participate. He informed that Shiv Ratri festival has great religious and cultural significance and is celebrated by all the communities.
He said district administration Jammu held a meeting at Peerkho Temple today which was also attended by officers of all the concerned departments to review the arrangements for the festival and make the mela a successful event.
Others present in the press conference included Mahant Rajesh Bittu, Yogi Karan Nath Ji, Yogi Pawan Nath Ji , Yogi Dharti Nath Ji and Shashi Khajuria.
