40 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU, Nov 15: Four persons died of COVID-19 in Jammu region and 189 tested positive, 94 of them in Jammu district while 162 others recovered from the virus today.
A 77-year-old man from Muthi died of COVID Pneumonia in the Government Medical College (GMC) within a day after hospitalization while 60-year-old man from RS Pura breathed his last in the same hospital today due to Coronavirus and other ailments, GMC Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
With today’s deaths, Corona toll in the Jammu region has reached 535, the highest being 280 in Jammu district followed by 50 Doda, 48 Rajouri, 35 Udhampur, 33 Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 18 Ramban, 16 Kishtwar and eight in Reasi district.
Among 189 positive cases in the region, 94 were reported from Jammu district, 81 of whom were locals and rest travelers, 23 from Kishtwar, 20 Ramban, 12 Kathua, 11 Samba, eight Udhampur, seven Doda, six Poonch, five Reasi and three in Rajouri district.
As many as 162 persons recovered from the virus today, the maximum being 100 from Jammu district, 28 in Udhampur, 12 Kishtwar, eight Kathua, seven Rajouri, five Poonch and two in Doda district. Ramban, Reasi and Samba districts didn’t report any recoveries.
Jammu region now has 40720 Corona cases. Of them, 1693 are active positives while 38492 have recovered from the virus. There have been 535 Corona casualties.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 40 new Corona cases-38 in Leh and two in Kargil district taking total Corona cases to 7396.
Of them, 922 are active positive cases in Ladakh while 6385 have recovered from the virus.
There have been 89 Corona casualties in the region-49 in Leh and 40 in Kargil district.
