REASI, Nov 26: District Police Reasi apprehended four notorious drug peddlers and recovered 9.76 grams of heroin from their possession during a naka checking operation at Sula Naka, here late last night.
The accused were apprehended last night around 22:00 hours when they were travelling in a vehicle i20, bearing registration number JK20A-8100 and coming from Katra towards Reasi. Upon thorough checking, heroin was recovered from the occupants, identified as Anil Sharma, son of Ram Parkash, of Nai Basti, Reasi; Shubham Singh son of Kartar Singh of Kanjli, Reasi; Vivek Raina son of Narian Dutt of Jyotipuram, Reasi and Kamal Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Mari, Reasi.
A case FIR under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, has been registered against the accused at Police Station Reasi. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individuals.
The operation was meticulously planned and executed by SHO Reasi, Inspector Khyatimaan Khajuria, under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs. Reasi, Neeraj Padyar.
