4 drug peddlers arrested

JAMMU, July 6: Four drug peddlers have been arrested along with heroin, intoxicant capsules and poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station led by ASI Mohammad Rashid laid a naka and intercepted a scooty.
During checking, police team recovered 2 grams heroin and 1128 intoxicant capsules from the possession of two persons riding on the scooty and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Parveen Sharma alias Kaka, son of late Rattan Lal of Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Jammu and Manisha Devi, wife of late Yogesh Kumar of Ambphalla, Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 115/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Rajouri Police Station apprehended two drug peddlers along with 13 kilograms of poppy straw.
The accused have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Shah, son of Mohammad Akbar of Kulgam and Mudassar Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of Kulgam. The alto car in which they were traveling was also seized.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Bakshi Nagar and Rajouri Police Stations and investigation started.
