4 drug-peddlers arrested in Rajouri, Poonch

JAMMU, Aug 5: Four drug-peddlers were arrested by police along with consignment in Rajouri and Poonch districts today.
Official sources said that the police party in Rajouri recovered consignment of 2000 tablets of toxic nature.  A team of Rajouri police headed by Deputy SP Headquarter, Mudassir Hussain alongwith SHO Rajouri Ajaz Ahmed Wani and SI Kulwinder Dev intercepted a person and found ten strips of tablets of drugs abuse category.
Later,  the police team alongwith Drugs Inspector raided a location near PHE office on Salani Road and found a consignment of 190 strips of these tablets. In total, 200 strips of tablets of drug abuse nature with 2000 tablets were seized during police action.
Two notorious peddlers have been detained in the case who include Aejaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Nadian, Rajouri and Ibrar Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed, resident of Nadian.
Meanwhile, a patrolling party of Police Station, Surankote headed by PSI Suman Sharma  rounded up two suspected persons at Daru Sheikh Road, Surankote this evening. They tried to escape on seeing police party, however, were over powered by the cops.
During their  personal search, approximately 3 gms of heroin was recovered from their possession. The suspects  disclosed their names as Mussurat Hussain Shah, son of Musaraf Hussain Shahm, resident of Mendhar  and Murtaza Hussain Shah, son of Ghulam Murtaza Shah, resident of Phagla, in Tehsil Surankote. In this connection a case FIR  No. 231/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act  has been registered at Police Station Surankote. Further investigation was in progress.
