4 drug peddlers arrested with charas

SRINAGAR, Apr 12: Police today arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam and Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party from Police Station Chandoosa, led by SHO PS Chandoosa, intercepted two individuals at a checkpoint established at Galibal, Chandoosa.
They were identified as Abdul Qayoom Lone, son of Abdul Rehman and resident of Shirpora, and Mudasir Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Heewan Sheeri.
“During the search, 36 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession,” police said.
Similarly, in Kulgam, a police party from PS Kulgam, patrolling at Hadigam, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Farooq Ahmad Thoker, son of Gull Mohammad Thoker, resident of Hadigam.
“During his personal search, 700 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody,” police said.
Meanwhile, in Sopore, a police party from Police Station Bomai, at a checkpoint established at Zonipora Crossing, Tujjer Shareef, arrested a drug peddler identified as Irfan Ahmad Pir, also known as Bit Pir, son of Mohammad Sultan Pir, resident of Tujjer Shareef, Sopore.
“During the search, 560 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station,” Police said.
