4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis

JAMMU, Jan 23: Bhathindi and Ramban police arrested four drug peddlers along with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Bhathindi led by Inspector Kamalpreet Singh under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka at Jalalabad chowk and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 350 grams heroin from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Javed Ahmed Mir, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Mir and Murtaza Ahmed Malik, son of Mohammad Abaas Malik, both residents of District Kulgam.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Ramban led by SI Manohar Sharma laid a naka near Shan Palace intercepted two persons.
During checking, police team recovered 260 grams cannabis from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Adfar Kumhar, son of Ghulam Hassan Kumhar and Akeel Majeed, son of Abdul Majeed Mattoo, both residents of District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 12/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SI Manohar Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Ramban Inspector Pardeep Sharma, DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
