4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Aug 28: Bishnah, Pouni Chak and Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested four drug peddlers along with heroin and poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AM-3068, which was coming from Chak Waziroo to Deoli.
During checking, police team recovered 3 grams of heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Ram Dass, son of Beli Ram, a resident of Ward Number 9 Bishnah District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 142/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Tilak Raj and SDPO Domana Sunil Singh during patrolling apprehended two drug peddlers along with 10.5 grams of heroin.
The accused were identified as Vikram Singh, son of Uttam Singh of Anand Nagar and Krishan Lal, son of Subhash Chander of Talab Tillo.
A case FIR Number 305/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation initiated.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Samson Bhatti under the supervision of SDPO Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police team recovered 6.700 kilograms of poppy straw from the truck and arrested the driver, who was identified as Musa, a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
