SAMBA, Oct 5: Four drug peddlers have been convicted under the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and sentenced imprisonment along with fine.
In different cases, court has convicted the accused Naresh Kumar, Suraj Pal, Vishal Singh and Rajesh Kumar. All the accused were found guilty and accordingly convicted for the commission of offences under Section 18 (a), (c), read with Section 27 (b) of Drugs & Cosmetics Act.
Drugs were confiscated from all the accused and thereafter Criminal Complaints/Challans were filed by Drug Inspector, Samba before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba under Sections 18(a), (c) read with Section 27 (b) of Drugs & Cosmetics Act.
According to the State Drug Controller, such convictions by the Court shall act as deterrent against the anti social elements.
