POONCH, Jan 31: The police in Mendhar sub-division have booked four drug peddlers and lodged them at District Jail Poonch under preventive custody.
An official spokesman said that a number of complaints were received at Police Stations against Mukhtar Ahmed alias Kala, son of Mohd Javaid, resident of Dharana, Mendhar; Akmad Hussain, son of Mir Mohd from Dharana; Mehmood Ahmed, son of Talib Hussain from Deri Dabsi at present Kottan in Mendhar and Parvaiz Ahmed, son of Mohd Sadeeq from Bhera village in Mendhar, for their involvement in drug peddling and alluring the innocent young generation to consume as well as supply drugs and getting youth involved in drug addiction.
Acting upon this, police party lead by SHO Mendhar Insp Nayaz Ahmed apprehended them and produced before the Executive Magistrate Mendhar where from they were sent to District Jail Poonch under preventive detention for one month.
