JAMMU, Dec 13: Satwari police arrested four gamblers and an absconder.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Satwari Police Station conducted raid and apprehended four gamblers along with Rs 26,300 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested gamblers were identified as Jagbir Singh alias Shanga, son of Mangal Singh, Rajesh Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, Sunil Kumar, son of Chaman Lal and Shankar Dayal, son of Puran Chand, all residents of Raipur Satwari, District Jammu.
They were booked under Section 13 Gambling Act and produced in the Court of Law.
Meanwhile, a team from Satwari Police Station apprehended an absconder, who was evading his arrest since long.
The accused has been identified as Madan Lal, son of Mokhali Ram of Nanak Nagar District Jammu.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 118/2014 under section 279, 337 and 338 IPC with Police Station Satwari. Arrest warrant under section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by Additional Munsiff Court Jammu.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Gurmeet Singh and made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Vinay Sharma.
