Srinagar, July 31: Police in Budgam have arrested 4 persons and seized 4 tractors involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
As per police, the officers from PS Beerwah during patrolling near Nalla Sukhnag intercepted four tractors loaded with illegally extracted minerals of Nallah Sukhnag.
“The tractors have been seized and their drivers identified as Nisar Ahmed Malik son of Ali Mohammed Malik, Ajaz Ahmed Sheikh son of Mushtaq Sheikh, both residents of Bhatipora Khag, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Sail Beerwah and Nazir Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Kundora Beerwah were arrested,” police said.
They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody, police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 105/2022 under relevant sections of the law has been registered in Police Station Beerwah and an investigation has been initiated.
