Srinagar, Apr 2: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today seized 4 vehicles and arrested 4 persons in Awantipora.
A police party led by SHO PS Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti arrested four persons and seized four vehicles (tippers) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Hatiwara and Padgampora areas of Awantipora.
They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody, police said.
Accordingly, police said, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
