SRINAGAR, Apr 4: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police seized 4 vehicles and arrested 4 persons in Kulgam.
A police party led by In-charge Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling on NHW 44 arrested four persons (drivers) and seized four vehicles (02 Dumpers, 01 Tipper and 01 Tractor) involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police said.
“They have been identified as Umar Ali Masegar son of Ali Mohammad Masegar resident of Mattan, Tahir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Yousuf Dar resident of Awgam, Dalawar Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohi-u-din Bhat resident of Akhram and Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Gull Mohammad Bhat resident of Nippora. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.”
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 56/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and an investigation has been initiated.
