4 hurt as car skids near Pouni bridge

REASI, Aug 3: Four members of a family from Udhampur were seriously injured after their car skidded off the road and fell into a nallah at ‘Neela Tub’ near Pouni this afternoon.
The mishap occurred at around 1.45 pm when the family including two children were returning from Shiv Khori in their Alto car No. JK14B/0264, after performing darshan at holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva at Ransoo. As the vehicle reached at Neela Tub bridge the driver lost control at this curve and the vehicle fell down into the nallah just closer to bridge.
This is the same point where side railing of the bridge has broken and the road is very narrow there. On both sides the road is enough wide while at this point the road and tailing has been left unattended by GREF authorities. Hardly, a fort night back a car accident took place there in which four persons from Rajouri were killed.
A young bike- rider of the area who was going to distribute his own marriage cards was also killed in accident there. A tipper driver was also killed in mishap at the same point while the GREF authorities have not taken cognizance of these accidents. The District administration is also sleeping over the matter.
All the four injured identified as Rakesh Gupta (45), son of Rattan Lal Gupta, his wife- Neelam Gupta, daughter- Rakhi (15) and son Gautam (13), hailing from Shakti Nagar (near Dhar Road), were rushed to Pouni Hospital by the locals of the area and police. The doctors after providing treatment referred them to Govt Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
