JAMMU, July 7: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs today ordered promotion of four IPS officers of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre from Inspector Generals of Police (IGPs) to Additional Director Generals of Police (ADGPs).
They are Garib Dass, IGP Headquarters, Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir, Alok Kumar, IGP CIV and Viplav Kumar Choudhary, who is on Central deputation.
Choudhary was granted proforma promotion.
All four IPS officers are of 1997 batch of erstwhile J&K cadre and presently AGMUT.
An order to this effect was issued today by the MHA.
Posting orders of the promoted officers will be issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
