UDHAMPUR, Feb 16: Four laborer were injured when a suspension bridge under construction over Kud Nallah at village Ala near Chenani cremation ground collapsed, here today.
The incident took place around 1645 hrs when the victims were on work and suddenly the bridge collapsed resulting into injuries to the labourers.
According to the police, the injured were identified as Romesh Chander, son of Chain Lal of Akhnoor, Bhawani son of Balwant Singh of Uttarakhand, Mohd Binia son of Gani of Bashat and Mohd Rafiq son of Gyaso Din of Gool.
They were immediately shifted to CHC Chenani where doctors referred them to District Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, an unidentified persons was found dead in an under construction building near Grand King Hotel on Dhar Road Udhampur.
Police said that the body was shifted to the mortuary room of Udhampur District Hospital, for identification and postmortem while inquest proceedings were initiated in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
