4 injured in cylinder blast

BHADERWAH, Mar 3: Panic gripped village Udhana, when an LPG cylinder suddenly exploded in a house this evening.
Police spokesman said that, a gas cylinder caught fire and exploded in a house at village Udhana, resulting into serious burn injuries to four members of the family including a minor boy.
On hearing the sound of an explosion, locals rushed out of their houses, tried to extinguish the fire and also informed the police, he added.
On getting information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and took out all the family members from the house safely, he said.
He added that all were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Bhaderwah where their condition was stated to be out of danger when last reports came in.
After the explosion, fire engulfed the house and the fire fighters after hectic efforts, brought the fire under control, but by that time, the top floor and the roof top was totally damaged.
The injured were identified as 55-year-old Mohd Saleem, his wife Saleema Begum (45), daughter Gazala Saleem (180) and son Usman Saleem (8).
