POONCH, Apr 9:  Four persons were injured, one of them seriously when a Sumo fell down into a nallah on the outskirts of Mandi town on Loran road this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 4.30 pm when Tata Sumo, bearing registration No. JK-12/ 5499 was on way towards Loran from Mandi town. The driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into a nallah, causing injuries to the four passengers on board.
Immediately after the mishap, the people from the nearby houses and shops rushed the site. The police party also reached there after some time. The driver of the vehicles managed to slip away from the spot despite receiving some minor injuries.
All the four injured were rescued by the locals and rushed to Mandi hospital where seriously injured Zahida Begum, wife of  Mushtaq  Ahmed, resident of Arai village was referred to District Hospital, Poonch. She was later sent to GMC Jammu.  The other three injured have been identified as Khalil Ahmed, son of Mohd Din;  Munazzar Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed and Mohd Ishaq, son of Mohd Ayub, residents of Arai village in Mandi.  The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
