4 inter-state narcotics smugglers held with over 15 kg Ganja

JAMMU, Mar 7: Police in Jammu District today arrested four inter-state drug smugglers from different areas and recovered 15.5 kilograms of Ganja from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Bahu Fort intercepted an individual while patrolling near Grand Inn Hotel, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Sensing the presence of the police, the suspect attempted to flee, but the alert police team swiftly apprehended him, he said.
Upon questioning, the police spokesperson said, the individual identified himself as Bobby Kumar, hailing from Radhanagar, Banka, Bihar at present Sector 1, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
A search of his belongings led to the discovery of 560 grams of Ganja, and cash amounting to Rs 77,000, he said.
The accused has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 58/2024 under sections 8/20/62 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, another police team in Domana area led by SHO Domana, Inspector Arun Sharma, assisted by PSI Younis Khanday, conducted a successful operation, resulting in seizure of 15 kilograms of narcotics (Ganja) from three persons.
They have been identified as Rakesh Mallick, Sibasana Kanhar, and Dayanidhi Naik, all residents of Odisha.
The accused have been booked in case FIR number 48/2024 under the relevant sections of the law and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the entire operation at Domana was conducted under the close supervision of SDPO Domana Mudasir Hussain and SP Rural Brijesh Sharma.
