4 JeM OGWs arrested in Sopore

SRINAGAR June 26: Security forces today arrested four Over Ground Workers of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) from Sopore area of North Kashmir.
On specific information, 22 RR of Army, 177 Battalion of CRPF and SOG Sopore laid an ambush near Fruit Mandi Sopore at around 1830 hours. Click here to watch video
Four OGWs of JeM identified as Mohammad Ayub son of Ghulam Hassan Makkah of Malpura, Fayaz Ahmed War son of Ghulam Mohidin War of Warpura, Havid Ahmad War son of Abdul Rehman War of Warpura and Maqsood Ahmad War son of Mohammad Yousuf War of Dachinpoora Rohama Rafiabad Sopore were arrested.
Police said warlike stores including grenade and UBGL were recovered from them. The OGWs are being questioned.
Police today said that security guard at JK Bank Pinjoora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district foiled a rifle-snatching bid by the militants.
Police said some unknown men barged inside the JK Bank and sprayed chilli powder into the eyes of the guard and tried to snatch his rifle.  However, the guard resisted despite being sprayed with the chilli powder and in the meantime the persons fled from the scene. Security forces launched massive manhunt in the area to nab the persons who tried to snatch the rifle.
Security forces today launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Mogulpur village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Army personnel of 44 RR, CRPF and SOG laid a siege around the Mogulpur village following inputs about the presence of militants. However, no militants were found in the village and operation was later called off.
Clashes erupted in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district today after youth pelted stones at an Army patrolling party.
A patrolling party of 13 RR was returning to their base when scores of youth pelted stones at them at main market Hajin. Locals alleged that Army men vandalized the shops after the clashes. However, situation was later brought under control.
